When should I call ampm Movers?
If you need to move today, we can probably do that. If you required a written in home estimate, you should call us about 7 days to 2 weeks before your need to move. We generally ask you to give us as much advanced notice as possible. Keep in mind that weekends, end of the month and holidays often book weeks or months in advance.
What kind of questions should I expect?
Our staff is trained to ask you specific questions to better help them understand your needs and offer the best service available to you. You will be asked basic questions like your pick up and destination addresses to how many bedrooms do you have? Do you require any special needs like a piano, pool table, tanning bed, gun safe or hot tub? Are there stairs at either end? Is there any limited access for the trucks?
What are my responsibilities?
In brief…
- Be present during the packing of your belongings
- Take personal responsibility for jewelry and other high value items
- Ensure no prohibited items are packed
- Approve the starting time and sign the contract
- Relax! – Let us do the work for you!
What can or can’t I take with me?
Well, mainly those things you might expect….drugs, alcohol, weapons, ammunition, fuels or flammables. Shipping certain high value items or collections may require you to purchase additional valuation coverage. If you have a question about something, just call and ask. We will be more than glad to field any questions you may have.
Can I leave clothes in my drawers?
Yes, you can. Just be sure not to leave anything solid than can damage the piece.
What about my car?
We do not transport cars as part of a regular local move. We can arrange to take your vehicle or provide you with alternative sources for your vehicle, boat or RV.
How much should I tip?
Tipping is not required but is certainly appreciated. Some people base their decision on how efficient the crew was while others may tip on the overall experience. This ranges from a few dollars to several hundred each depending on the size of your move. A good rule of thumb is $5 per hour per man.
How do you charge?
It’s simple…
- Our time never starts till we arrive on the job and ends when we complete your move
- Affordable hourly rates
- NO hidden charges
- NO transit fee
- No fuel surcharges
How do I pay?
We accept most major credit and debit cards, cashier’s checks and money orders, travelers checks and of course, US currency. All personal checks must be drawn on local banks and include your driver’s license number. Return checks are subject to a $30 fee and any checks drawn on closed accounts or insufficient funds will be pursued including any and all fees or court cost associated in collecting said debt.
